Sixth ranked Salvadorenos (4-4) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Independiente (3-5) 75-73 in the game for the fifth place. American swingman Andravious Smith (198-1995, college: Tougaloo) came up with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 6 assists for Independiente in the defeat. Salvadorenos moved-up to fifth place. Independiente at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Salvadorenos will play against Santa Tecla (#9) at home in the next round.
